Rock Bridge Renewal

NOTE - this is on hold for now. We hope to have a stewardship day in fall of 2021 if Covid-19 is in retreat.

Twice a year FoRB organizes a stewardship day at the Park. Check the calendar and newsletter for dates.

The schedule for both days is the same - email friendsofrockbridge@gmail.com to participate

Good Neighbor Program

The Good Neighbor Program is a project of the Friends of Rock Bridge Memorial State Park (FoRB) to recognize and support the efforts of park neighbors who take practical and meaningful steps to maintain the health of the park.

The program asks neighbors to help keep the park healthy by making efforts in five areas that are critical to protecting and conserving natural features and wildlife:

Keep sewage out of sinkholes
Keep storm water away from streams and sinkholes
Keep invasive plants at bay
Keep pets under control
Keep in touch with the park

Nature Detectives

NOTE - this is on hold for 2020. We hope to have a Nature Detectives running again in 2022

For the last eight years, FoRB has supported activites for pre-schoolers and their caregivers in the park. Meredith Donaldson organizes and carries out activities for adults to share with the kids they care about with help from Master Naturalists and other volunteers. This program is also supported by the Columbia Downtown Optimists.

In addition to the preschool program for 3-6 year olds, we offer a concurrent activity for 7-8 year olds.

Sponsored by Friends of Rock Bridge Memorial State Park,  the Missouri Department of Resources, Rock Bridge Memorial State Park, and Downtown Optimists

Check the homepage and newsletter for more information.

Urban Population Outreach Program (UPOP)

NOTE - this is on hold for 2020. We hope to have a UPOP running again in 2022

The Urban Population Outreach Program aims to reach children and youth who might not otherwise be able to participate. In cooperation with local youth agencies such as Boys and Girls Club, Fun City, Central Latino we offer field activities in the park that include camp skills, nature study, and cave tours. The Missouri Parks Association provides financial support, and the Boone's Lick Chapter of the Missouri Master Naturalist provides program support.
