UPOP- Teens Go Caving

Teens from Refugee and Immigrant Services went on a caving expedition at Rock Bridge. Many of these students were fluent in English, but not fluent in the ecosystems around their new home. They said that it was the first time they had been “out into the wilderness by Columbia”. All of the group participants were eager to climb into the crevice area of Connor’s cave and the side passages under the natural bridge, even though most were wearing sandals and “good clothing”.

"We had such an incredible tour at Rock Bridge State Park, exploring Devil's Icebox and Connor's Cave and learning about bats and fossils"

The Urban Population Outreach Program (UPOP) is a joint project of FoRB and the Missouri Parks Association.
